Broward County Transit (BCT) Premium Mobility Plan (PREMO)
In 2018, the Board of County Commissioners of Broward County adopted a 30-year Transportation Surtax Plan that provides funding for comprehensive mass transit throughout the County. PREMO resulted, and DCS was charged with creating awareness and gathering public input. DCS planned the community engagement, conducting public outreach at over 100 community events, administering surveys, managing canvassers, and arranging/participating in multiple rounds of meetings with leadership for each municipality in Broward.
Port Everglades Cruise Passenger Survey
Port Everglades periodically conducts a Cruise Passenger Survey to understand passenger decisions and points-of-view toward the Port as well as identify changes in public opinion since the last survey was implemented. DCS led the outreach by administering 6,000+ surveys, at the Port terminals, online and on paper. DCS collected, organized, and analyzed the data, reported findings, plus communicated recommendations to the Port via a final report and presentation.
City of Fort Lauderdale, Reimagining City Hall
Following the flooding of their city hall, the City of Fort Lauderdale deemed the building unfit for usage. The City reached out to DCS to lead public input workshops for the redesign of a new building. Outreach was conducted with city Neighbors to reimagine the Overall Structure, Space Allocation, Amenities, and Financing/Procurement. DCS planned and facilitated the workshops, which included breakout groups. Qualitative data was collected, organized, analyzed, and presented to the city’s infrastructure Task Force, who gleaned a set of Guiding Principles that were successfully presented to the Commission.
Broward County Aviation Department (BCAD)
BCAD must conduct Contract Compliance Monitoring to determine if Contractor and/or Subcontractor are complying with the requirements of the ACDBE program. DCS is the ACDBE Liaison Officer for Keolis NA to ensure compliance with the ACDBE program. To accommodate the operational needs of the project, DCS facilitates business partnering between ACDBE firms and Keolis Transit Services.
Broward County Water and Wastewater Services (BCWWS)
BCWWS is upgrading the water and/or sewer lines in the Cities of Lauderdale Lakes, Pembroke Pines, Miramar, Hollywood, Dania Beach, and Deerfield Beach. DCS has been conducting public outreach promoting public meetings, distributing doorhangers, and communicating with contractors, engineers, and the community to resolve residents and businesses issues as well as managing expectations.
